This was in the spring and he used to stress and lose weight during breeding season, so he's thin in these pics.
He was a little awkward the first time over the oxer.
Better
Thinking of putting him in training with a H/J trainer when I get to Phoenix. Leaning more towards the hunters. Maybe I can get him sold? Thoughts?
Faaaaancy! I have the impression hunters don't always like colored horses?
ReplyDeleteThanks. I haven't been around hunters at all in about ten years, so I have no clue :) Knowing my luck, probably not.
DeleteHe's an impressive jumper!!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteLooks very handsome and huntery to me! :)
ReplyDeleteWhoa he jumps great!!!!!!! Is he an amateur friendly ride? Colored hunters aren't super ideal, but if he's a good candidate for an adult amateur horse and he's a honest jumper he will very likely make a great hunter with that jump and lots of adults (and kids) love a pretty colored unique horse.
ReplyDeleteI think he will be amateur friendly as a gelding. He's not scared of anything and all of his behavioural issues were usually studly responses. I'm hoping that will be done with now :)
DeleteIs he still entire? He is such a stud muffin *swoon*
ReplyDeleteHe should be a very nice gelding :) I hope.
DeleteWant!
ReplyDeleteIt is sad, but as the others said, most judges frown at a colored horse hunter... What a cutie!!! I don't really care what judges think and I would scoop him up in a second if I could, but I wouldn't step foot into the hunter arena...
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm more for the jumpers too....I think he'd do well in the jumpers too :)
DeleteI don't see a problem with a colored hunter, and honestly don't think that the judge's preference would really come into play on the subject until bigger shows. Around my parts if he was a nice, honest and smooth hunter he would do great in 2'6"-3'3" classes!
ReplyDeleteHe definitely moves like a hunter. I hate that his color could possibly go against him at any level, but I also know that it isn't everyone's cup of tea.
DeleteSuper nice jump. How does he trot? Send him to California, a colored jumper wouldn't not place here.
ReplyDeleteHe trots really nice, but definitely more of a hunter trot. I probably should send him over there :)
DeleteSend him to ME!! =) What a looker!!
DeleteI'd have to see trot and jump vids to make a call on hunter land, but you could sell that jump to the jumpers. Color doesn't matter, just gotta leave the rails up.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, I can get video fairly soon. I think he'd be good in the jumpers too. As long as I can get him sold to a good home, I'm happy.
DeleteHe's lovely!!
ReplyDeletevery handsome guy!
ReplyDeleteHe sure thinks so :)
DeleteHe is such a gorgeous horse! Love that jump!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Now if I can actually make myself sell him....
DeleteThanks!
